Dear Parent/Guardian,
Welcome to first grade! You will be amazed at just how much your child will grow this year. Some things will seem familiar, reminding you of kindergarten. There will be stories, friends, games, and centers. Yet there will be new challenges as well, including independent work, homework and lots of reading and writing!
I want you to know how important your child is to me and how dedicated I am to providing him/her with the tools to be as successful as possible. In order to achieve this success, I need you as a partner. Your job is to encourage and support. Read the notices in your child’s folder daily, ask your child what is going on in the classroom, and continue to READ, READ, READ, both TO and WITH your child!
As partners in your child’s education, I hope you will contact me with any questions, comments, or concerns. Please feel free to send a note with your child or email me at hauth_l@hcde.org and I will respond as soon as possible. In return, I will contact you by note, email, or phone if there is something I would like to discuss. I would like to ask that if you have an email address, send me an email with your child’s name so that I can save your address to my contact list.
